Global Jaya International School is located in Bintaro, Tangerang, Indonesia (on the outskirts of Jakarta) and was established in 1995. The vision of the school is to provide a quality educational opportunity for Indonesian and expatriate children, in order for them to become active leaders in their local communities and effective global citizens. Global Jaya International School is fully authorised to implement an international curriculum framework of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) programmes, whilst incorporating key elements of the national curriculum. Teaching staff are all qualified and well-trained to deliver exceptional pedagogy and differentiated classroom practices to cater for all learning styles and ability levels. The national curriculum is blended into this framework to ensure that all students gain an understanding of local cultures and take pride in Indonesian heritage whilst developing international mindedness.
One of the main objectives of the school is to prepare students for tertiary studies anywhere in the world. A high priority is given to problem solving and creative learning skills. International benchmark testing is utilised to facilitate programme development to ensure student learning is consistent with that of leading international educational institutions. Students are at the centre of all learning experiences. Global Jaya International School is a dual language school, using both English and Bahasa Indonesia. Mandarin is also taught from Kindergarten onwards and Spanish is an option from Year 7. It is the belief of the Leadership team that in the early years, it is imperative that each child's mother tongue is promoted to successfully develop their language abilities and attain consistently high academic standards.
Accreditation & Authorization
Accreditation and authorization necessitates that Global Jaya International School operates at an approved standard accepted by international educational communities. Global Jaya International School is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, implementing all three International Baccalaureate programmes ie PYP, MYP and the Diploma Programme. The school is also accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges). WASC is an accrediting commission for schools based in California, USA. WASC accreditation is given to schools that meet high standards of educational practice. Global Jaya International School also has international school accreditation from DEPDIKNAS at an A+ level.
