Welcome From
DP Principal
Dear Students, Parents and Guests,
Greetings and welcome to the IB Diploma Programme (DP) at Global Jaya School (GJS)! At GJS, we define learning as the “. . . lasting growth, change and development of knowledge, skills, understanding, and behaviour.” The DP is a rigorous two-year university-preparatory programme designed for students ages 16-19 with a focus on skills development, conceptual understanding, international-mindedness and personal growth. By the very nature of the programme, DP students are challenged to live our definition of learning every day.
At GJS, students complete the Diploma Programme in Years 11 & 12, with the option of working toward an IB Diploma (Six subjects, TOK, Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity and Service) or as an IB Courses Candidate (a minimum of four subjects). Upon successful completion of either pathway, students earn a Global Jaya Graduation Certificate.
The final two years of high school can be a time of high stress for students and their families. Our aim is to challenge students to be their best, through well-established relationships based on an understanding of our students’ strengths and future goals. From subject selection in Year 10 to university applications in Year 12, our Student Support Services team, teaching staff, and leadership team are by our students’ sides every step of the way.
Whether you are a current member of our community, a prospective member of our community, or just a curious visitor, we invite you to have a (virtual) look around and see what learning in the DP at GJS is all about!
Regards,
